Alison Doody

Alison Doody is an Irish actor and model. She was born on 11th November 1966. She made her film debut with a small part in Bond film A View to a Kill (1985) she went on to play Nazi-sympathising archaeologist Elsa Schneider, in Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade (1989). Siobhan Doovan played Charlotte on Taffin in 1988, and Rebecca Flannery starred in Major League II in 1994. Doody began modelling after being offered by a professional photographer. The result was an impressive professional career as a model for commercials. Doody was adamantly against fashion, thongs and glamour during her modeling career. She accepted a small role as Jenny Flex for 1985's A View to a Kill following the fact that she was spotted by the director of casting. Doody's name was included in John Willis Screen World Vol. 12 which features the most promising actors in 1986. 38. Doody was just turning age 18 when she was given the character of Bond girl. She remains the youngest Bondgirl to date. A Prayer for the Dying featuring Mickey Rourke in 1987, was another early film where Doody played IRA Siobhan. Doody was a voice actor in the 1987 television adaptation of The Secret Garden appearing as Archibald Craven's wife Lilias in the movie of his dreams. The first time she played the lead in the 1988 episode of Jim Henson fantasy series The Storyteller in the role of Sapsorrow with John Hurt Dawn French and Jennifer Saunders. The year 1988 was the first time she played alongside Pierce Brosnan on the movie Taffin. Her most notable part to date was that of Austrian Nazi sympathizer as well as archaeologist Dr. Elsa Schneider opposite Harrison Ford in 1989's Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade. The film also starred Sean Connery as Indy's father Doody is a co-star with three actors that have played James Bond. In 1991 Doody played alongside Jonathan Pryce in British mini-series Selling Hitler inspired by the publishing fraud known as the Hitler Diaries. Then, she moved to Hollywood. It was her choice to succeed Cybill Shepard in the role of L'Oreal spokesperson and then continued to play opposite Charlie Sheen as Flannery, his girlfriend and agent in Major League II. Doody made her acting comeback in 2003 when she played a minuscule performance as a character in The Actors, a British comedy film The Actors, in which Michael Caine played herself at an awards ceremony. Doody was a co-star, along with Patrick Swayze, in the 2004 TV film adaptation to King Solomon's Mines. in 2010 Doody played a role in Danny Dyer's film The Rapture (2010). Doody was a guest on RTE's the medical thriller The Clinic. The project was later shelved. In 2011, she started the first of two seasons in the E4 comedy drama Beaver Falls playing Pam Jefferson. She was a part of We Still Kill the Old Way, a 2014 film. In November she received the Almeria award for best film and received a Star on Almeria's Walk of Fame.
