Allyson Felix
Allyson Michael Felix was the Los Angeles native born on November 18th, 1985. Felix's father Paul Felix is an ordained minister in the Master's Seminary, Sun Valley. Her mother Marlean Felix is a teacher at Balboa Magnet Primary School. Felix displayed a knack for sports early, and discovered her athletic abilities while she was at the Los Angeles Baptist High School. At her first attempt she was ranked among the top two athletes at the U.S. Indoor Track and Field Championships for the 200-meter sprint in only 10 weeks. Felix agreed to sign a contract with Adidas for a professional career with Adidas in 2003, and then enrolled at University of Southern California to learn about elementary education. The first Olympic medal came during the 2004 Summer Olympics, which took place in Athens Greece. Felix set the world junior record by running 200m in 22.18 secs. The 2005 Helsinki World Championships saw her becoming the youngest female to win the 200 meter race. In 2007 she defended this title and beat her Jamaican competitor Veronica Campbell. Felix took part at her first Olympics during Beijing London Rio de Janeiro and Tokyo always finishing in the top three in all her competitions.
